Overview

Wireless infrastructure carries the traffic that smartphones and Wi-Fi devices generate, and it works in a harsher signal environment than any consumer product. Base stations, small cells and repeaters handle strong signals, several carriers at once and strict spectral requirements, so their RF chains demand high linearity and steep filtering. BeiLuo supplies the Skyworks amplifiers, switches and filters that infrastructure designers rely on, as an authorized Skyworks distributor with FAE support for signal-chain design.

The Linearity Requirement

In infrastructure, a component that distorts creates interference in adjacent channels, so linearity is a system requirement rather than a nice-to-have. Amplifiers must handle strong signals without compressing, and switches must route them without generating intermodulation products. Broadband gain blocks such as the SKY65017-70LF provide flat gain with a 1 dB compression point around +20 dBm, which lets a designer build up gain in stages while keeping the chain linear. Cascading the same block simplifies the design and the sourcing.

Filtering for Spectrum Control

Infrastructure equipment must keep its emissions inside the allocated band and reject signals outside it, so filters are placed between gain stages to control the spectrum. A band-pass filter such as the SKY33106-360LF removes out-of-band energy before it is amplified, which prevents a strong blocker from driving a later stage into compression. Filtering between stages is a standard technique for keeping a repeater or a small cell within its spectral mask.

Routing and Multi-Antenna Systems

Base stations and distributed antenna systems route signals among many antennas and paths, and the switches that do this must have low insertion loss and high isolation. The SKY13373-460LF covers 100 MHz to 8 GHz with about 0.45 dB insertion loss and 30 dB isolation, so it preserves the link budget and keeps paths separated in a multi-antenna system. Wide-band coverage means one switch can serve several bands.

Thermal and Reliability

Infrastructure equipment runs continuously, so thermal design and reliability matter as much as performance. Amplifiers must be mounted with a good thermal path, and the chain must be designed so no single stage runs hot. The RF lab at BeiLuo can measure gain, compression and thermal behaviour under sustained conditions so the design is validated before deployment.

Why BeiLuo

We hold mainstream Skyworks parts in regional stock, support volume programs with supply agreements, and ship with import, origin and RoHS documentation. Our FAE team supports signal-chain design, linearity budgeting and thermal review from design-in through production.

Designing for Continuous Operation

Infrastructure equipment runs continuously, so its design must be robust over years rather than months. Derate components, provide margin in the thermal design, and choose parts with long availability so the platform can stay in the field. Measure the chain under sustained load rather than a short burst, because thermal behaviour changes over time. A design that is validated only at start-up will surprise you in year three, and infrastructure customers do not tolerate that.

Next Steps

Send your band, output power and linearity requirements and we will propose a signal-chain set, confirm availability, and supply samples for validation.
