Overview

Wi-Fi is the most widely used wireless interface in the world, and each generation raises the bar on throughput, latency and coexistence. Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 push more data through the same spectrum while adding the wide 6 GHz band, and that combination makes the RF front end one of the hardest parts of the design. BeiLuo supplies the Skyworks front-end modules, filters and switches that make these radios practical, as an authorized Skyworks distributor with FAE support for band planning and layout.

The Front End Is Where It Is Won

A Wi-Fi radio is only as good as the front end between its transceiver and its antenna. That front end must amplify the transmit signal to the required power without distorting it, amplify the weak receive signal without adding noise, and keep the wanted band clean of interference. Doing all of that in a small, predictable package is the value of a front-end module, which integrates the power amplifier, the transmit/receive switch, the low-noise amplifier and often the filtering. The SKY85743-21 for 5 GHz and the SKY85354-11 for 2.4 GHz are good examples: each provides roughly 31 to 32 dB of transmit gain and about +20 dBm of linear output, in packages only a few millimetres across.

Why Integration Matters

Matching a discrete front end is time-consuming and layout-sensitive, and every added component is a chance for loss or instability. A module is tuned and characterized as a unit, so the design-in effort drops and the performance is repeatable from board to board. That matters especially for a product built in volume, where consistency is as valuable as peak performance.

Coexistence and the 6 GHz Band

Wi-Fi 7 uses the 6 GHz spectrum, which sits next to cellular and other services. Keeping those bands separated requires filters with steep skirts, which is why bulk acoustic wave filters such as the SKY85921-11 are used across 5945 to 7125 MHz. On the lower bands, the SKY33106-360LF does the same job for 2.4 GHz. Good filtering is what lets a device run several radios at once without degrading them, and it is a requirement rather than an option in a dense product.

Antenna Routing

Multi-antenna and multi-band designs need switches to route signals between radios and antennas. The SKY13373-460LF covers 100 MHz to 8 GHz with about 0.45 dB insertion loss and 30 dB isolation, so it preserves the link budget while keeping paths separated. Low loss and high isolation here translate directly into range and throughput.

Designing for Manufacture

Once the front end is chosen, the layout decides the result. Keep the RF traces short and impedance-controlled, provide a solid ground plane, decouple the supplies close to the device, and keep the high-power transmit path away from the sensitive receive path. Thermal design matters too, because the power amplifier runs warm at full output. BeiLuo's FAE team reviews these details during design-in and can measure the finished front end in our RF lab.

Why BeiLuo

We hold mainstream Skyworks modules, filters and switches in regional stock and ship them with import, origin and RoHS documentation. Our engineers support band planning, matching and coexistence, and can supply samples for bench validation before you commit to production.

Next Steps

Send your band, output power and coexistence requirements and we will propose a front-end set, confirm availability and lead time, and supply samples for validation.
